Peggy Joyce Varnedore, age 79, of Alma passed away November 14, 2023, at her residence after extended illness. She was born in Ware County September 6, 1944, to Roscoe Perritt and Agnes Henderson Perritt. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Ted Varnedore, Sr., daughter, Paula Varnedore, two brothers, Gene Perritt and Dolan Perritt and three sisters, Ruby Lee Wildes, Gertrude Griffis and Helen Altman.

Mrs. Varnedore was a member of Corinth Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include three children, Marvin Ted Varnedore, II (Marci), Penny Varnedore and Pamala Strickland (David) of Alma; four grandchildren, Blake Chaney (Brittany), Jacob Strickland, Trey Varnedore, III and Jailyn Varnedore and one great-granddaughter, Blakelynn Chaney.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 17, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Corinth Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Parnell Aldridge and Rev. Randy Turner officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM.

Active pallbearers will be Johnny Wildes, Joey Wildes, Michael Wildes, Blake Chaney, Jacob Strickland and Trey Varnedore. The Corinth Church Family will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Crosby Funeral Home will in charge of arrangements.
