Willard Phelan Thompson, age 76, passed away at Pruitt Health Senior Care Center, September 29, 2025, after an extended illness. He was born in Bacon County on May 25, 1949, to the late Willard Jessie Thompson and Clyo Taylor Thompson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Faye Thompson and sisters Cynthia Sharpe, Muriel Martin, and Colleen Adams.

He was a member of the United States Marines.

He retired from Cothern Varnadore Chevrolet where he worked as a mechanic for many years.

He is survived by his sons, Jessie Thompson of Brunswick, Brad Thompson (Renee) of Virginia, and Scottie Thompson of Alma; his grandchildren, Matthew Thompson, Amber Huggins, Emily Thompson, and Hayden Thompson; one great-grandchild, Holly Huggins; sisters, Jan Allen of Blackshear and Vivian Stallings of Alma.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 03, 2025, in the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home at 11 AM with Rev. R.B. Gaskins officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Thursday night from 6-8 PM.

Active pallbearers include Kevin Allen, Kenneth Allen, Bill Sharpe, Freddy Stallings, Dale Martin, Rodney Wilson, and Austin Martin.

All in attendance will be considered honorary pallbearers.
