John Quitman Allen, age 93, passed away peacefully on September 08, 2025, at Twin Oaks Nursing Home. He was born on March 31, 1932, in Bacon County to the late Johnny Leon Allen and Shellie Johnson Allen. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Stella Jean Allen; three brothers, James Wilton, William Leroy, and Jessie Lendon Allen.

He retired from D.L. Lee & Sons after 48 years. He was a faithful member of Southside Church of God.

Survivors include, three sons, Johnny Allen (Wanda), Leon Allen (Judy), and Gary Allen (Kay), all of Alma; one daughter, Connie Lane (Dale Overstreet) of Alma; one brother, Vernon Leon Allen (Barbara) of Fort Myers, FL; three sisters, Shellie Aline Weber of Orlando, FL, Patricia Ann Wiggins (Alex) of Loxley, AL, and Nancy Lucille Darby of Loxley, AL; eleven grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren, and special caretaker, Shirrell Greene.

Funeral services will be Friday, September 12, 2025, at 2 PM at Southside Church of God with Rev. David Deen and Rev. R.M. Warren officiating. Interment will follow at Beulah Baptist Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the church from 1 PM until service time.

Active pallbearers include Alan Dyal, Jason Dyal, Jason Lane, Jasper Allen, Dusty Allen, Parker Peagler, Austin Williams, and Daniel Kerrigan.

Honorary pallbearers include the staff of Twin Oaks Nursing Home and all others in attendance.
