Rachel Marie McRee, age 91, of Alma passed away Friday, November 18th at Twin Oaks Nursing Home after an extended illness. She was a native of Appling County and daughter of the late Eugene Mixon and Georgia Belle Mixon. Rachel is preceded in death by her husband W.F. McRee, nine brothers, Asberry Mixon, Francis Barto Mixon, George Mixon, Terry Joe, Charles Lamar, Hershel Eugene, Wayne Quitman, Jerry Wade and James Edward Taylor, two sisters, Mary Jane Kennedy and Louis Doris Scruggs. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.

Survivors include two sons, Clifford Manuel Taylor (Lana) of Brunswick, GA. and Alfred Billy Taylor (Nelly) of Hazlehurst, GA., two daughters, Latrell Mosley of Hazlehurst and Minnie Boyd of Alma, a stepdaughter, Judith McRee of Alma, three sisters, Betty Jean Smith (Frank) of Lumber City, GA, Hazel Staley of Jacksonville, FL. and Suzie Ann Simmons of Alma; also 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren survive.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 20th at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Campground Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6 to 8 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Randal, Robert and Richard Taylor, Chris O'Quinn, Cody Courson and James Ben Boyd. Honorary pallbearers will be; the Staff of Twin Oaks Nursing Home.
