Rachel Self, age 76, of Blackshear passed away peacefully May 20, 2024 at her residence. She was born March 14, 1948 in Grundy County, Tennessee to the late Lester Lee Caldwell and Frankie Jean Smith Caldwell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Self; daughter, Rita Darlene Self; granddaughters, Brooklyn Maraih Self and Candy & Sandy Self; sisters, Brenda Self and Kathy Brown; brothers, Dean Caldwell, Roy Caldwell, Lee Caldwell, Bradford Caldwell, Larry Caldwell and Randy Caldwell.

Survivors include four children, Johnny Self (Lisa) of Blackshear, James Self (Loretta) of Hoboken and Lester Lee Self (Mona) of Blackshear and Sherry Hernandez (Lupe) of Blackshear; daughter-in-law, Carol Self (Bobby) of Alabama; brothers, Johnny Caldwell (Sarah) of Tennessee and Bill Caldwell (Glenda Faye) of Michigan; 16 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren and brothers and sister- in-laws, Joel & Juanita and May Jane Johnson of Lakeland and Samuel Brown of Blackshear and Lilly Caldwell of Tennessee.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
