Rankin Leary Brown, age 87, of Alma passed away at his residence on December 4, 2020 after an extended illness. He was born on February 18, 1933 in Gastonia, North Carolina to Roy Brown and Thelma Rankin Brown. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Brown and Bobby Brown.

He lived most of his life in Ocala, Florida before moving to Alma in 2009. He served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict, retired from the Department of Corrections in Silver Springs, Florida and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Belle Glade, Florida.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Eleanor McLean Brown of Alma, brother, Michael Brown and wife Joyce of San Antonio, TX., sister, Joyce Draa of Sandy Springs, GA., several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, December 6 ^th at 1:00 PM at Pine Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Miles officiating.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
