Raymond "Rod" Holton, age 63, of Nicholls passed away on Tuesday, August 29 ^th at his residence after an extended illness. He was born on September 10, 1953 to the late Jean Holton Melton and preceded in death by his grandparents, Shep Holton and Annie Bell Holton and a brother O.W. Holton. Rod was a retired Truck Driver and was the owner and operator of Country Girls Café; he also served in the US Army.

Mr. Holton is survived by his wife of 43 years, Beverly A. Gilliard Holton, two children, Raymond Rod Holton, Jr. (Diamond) of Nicholls and Julie Holton (Jamie) of West Green, three sisters, Teresa Bemis (Bobby), Susan Hall of Jesup and Faye Aldridge (Wayne) of Waycross; also 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a nephew, Wesley Gilliard (Denise) of Nicholls.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 31 ^st at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Bro. Pet Hayes, Bro. David Davis and Bro. Glenn Tanner officiating. Interment will follow in Hall Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Ronnie Burch, Tom Meeks, David White, Stacey Starnes, Paul Adams and Leon Gray. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
