Reba Jean Medders Sweat, age 78, of Alma passed away on November 4, 2020 at the Bacon County Hospital after a short illness. She was born in Bacon County on January 29, 1942 to the late Charlie Medders and Mamie Allen Medders. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, J. P. Sweat, two sisters, Ruth Medders Sweat and Glenda Medders, seven brothers, Robert (Bud) Medders, Charles (Buddy) Medders, Doyle Medders, Frank Medders, Vernon Medders, Tommy Medders and Albert Medders.

She was a member of the Alma First Baptist Church.

Survivors include six sons, David Sweat, Henry Sweat, John Larry Sweat (Willa Mae), Roy Sweat, Jerry Sweat (Lonann) and Patrick Sweat all of Alma, GA., six daughters, Lynn Music, Mary Lee Sweat, Marie Henry (Ray Carter) all of Alma, GA., Audrey Skidmore of Sanford, FL., Rhonda Howell (Ray) of Blackshear, GA. and June Jeffrey (Greg) of Deland, FL., two sisters, Ruby Nell Taylor and Reggie Hutchinson (Quinton) of Alma, GA., 28 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren and special friend, Jan Tatch of Alma.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 11 ^th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Pastor Travis Peavy officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 PM at the funeral home.

Social distancing and mask will be required at visitation and the funeral service.

Active pallbearers will be; Patrick Sweat, Lee Gilliard, Lawton Sweat, Trey Sweat, Justin Sweat, Cody Pippins, Jimmy Sweat and Skeeter Driggers. Honorary pallbearers will be; Joy Boatright, Robert Goodman, Deborah Morris Johnson, Bonnie Williams, Frank Smith, Jean Lott, Harry & Ann Johnson, Jan Tatch, Buster & Cona Meeks, James Henry & Bertha Carter and Clara Ring.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
