Retha McCorquodale, age 89, passed away peacefully at her residence April 14, 2026, after a short illness. She was born February 01,1937, in Coffee County to the late Elvin and Rilla Taylor. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James McCorquodale; son, Timothy McCorquodale; daughter, Janice Clifton; brother, Linton Taylor; sisters, Lois Steed, Linnie Foster, and Mildred Taylor.

She retired from Lamar’s Pharmacy as a salesclerk after many years. She was a member of Douglas Chapel Baptist Church.

She is survived by her granddaughters, March Clifton, Natalie Derouen; grandson, Jonathan Clifton; three great-grandchildren, Judson Derouen and Aayden Derouen; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday April 18, 2026, at Douglas Chapel Baptist Church at 2 PM with Rev. Randy Ray and Rev. Charles Hutcheson officiating. Interment will follow at Douglas Family Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the church from 1PM until service time.

Active pallbearers include Dusty Andrews, Ben Lott, Ronnie Davis, Austin Davis, Calvin Foster, and Shane Taylor. Honorary pallbearers include the Adult Women’s Sunday School Class of Douglas Chapel.
