Retha D. Vickers, age 76, of Alma died suddenly early Wednesday morning March 12th, 2014 at her home.  She was native of Bacon County, daughter of the late Elzie P. Deen and Mamie Martin Deen and was also preceded in death by her husband, John Allen Vickers, a son, James Vickers, two brothers, Buddy and Denny Deen, three sisters, Ethel Miles, Eula Dixon and Oletha Joins. Retha attended the Church of Jesus Christ on Highway 32 West.

Survivors include two sons, Tommy Vickers (Amanda), Chris Vickers, all of Alma, three daughters, Sheryl Barnes (Teary) of Jesup, Susan Shores (Billy) of Alma, Brenda Pries (Mike) of Silver Springs, FL, two brothers, Lavelle Deen (Norma) of Beach, GA, Darrell Deen (Lawanda) of Thomson, GA, thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 o'clock from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. James E. McGee, Pastor Dean Kapps and Elder Dan Vickers officiating.  Interment will follow in Wesley Chapel Church Cemetery on Highway 203. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Thursday evening between 6 and 9 P M.

Active pallbearers will be, Eric, Tom and Chris Vickers, Johnathan Meeks, Jeremy Parkerson and Ryan Hersey.  All others in attendance will be considered as honorary.
