Robert Earl Howard, age 46, of Alma died suddenly at his home early Monday morning November 4, 2013. He was a native of Gainesville, FL but had lived in Alma the past 31 years. He was son of the late William Earl (Billy) Howard and Verna Dell McCullough Howard and was also preceded in death by a brother, Billy Earl Howard, Jr.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Dorothy Hawkins Howard of Alma, the mother who raised him, Faye Taylor of Whitesboro, TX, a son Jonathan William Howard and fiance', Robin Tyson of Valdosta, two sisters, Leann Lee (Chris) of Alma, Sherry Faye Lord (Richard) of Baxley, several extended brothers and sisters survive, several nieces and nephews and one great nephew.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 6th at 2:00 o'clock at Wesley Chapel Church on Highway 203 with Rev. Danny Turner officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening between 6 and 9 P M. The body will be carried to the church Wednesday at 1:00 P M to lie in state.

Active pallbearers will be, Chris Lee, Jerry Lee, Sammy Douglas, Jim Hale, Andy Vanover and Timmy Lee. All others in attendance will be considered as honorary.
