Robert Charles Meeks, age 58, of Nicholls passed away suddenly July 13, 2023 at his residence after an extended illness. He was born June 2, 1965 in Bacon County to Spencer Lanier Meeks and Lois Waters Meeks. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Meeks and Stanley Meeks.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Brenda Peters Meeks of Nicholls; son, Travis Colter Meeks of Macon; mother-in-law, Vicey Peters; sister-in-law, Lynn Peters of Nicholls; special friend, Lavern Altman and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in Meeks Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Kevin Stone, Dillion Groover, Chris Elrod, Matt Waters, Bradley Anderson and Roger Goddard. Honorary pallbearers will be; Douglas Elks Lodge and Dr. Harrison Carters Office.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
