Robert (Bobby) E. Rewis, age 87, of St. Simons Island Georgia passed away at SEGHS on Monday, September 25th, 2023 after a short illness. He was a native of Bacon County but had lived on St. Simons since 1985. He was the son of the late Londis Rewis and Ruby Taylor Rewis. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Sandra Kay Rewis one brother Ronnie Wilbert (Pete) Rewis and two sisters Johnita Rewis Dykes and Vicky Rewis Adams as well as two nephews Charles Brock (Chuck) Rewis and Ronald Jeffery (Jeff) Rewis.

After graduating from Bacon High School, he attended Georgia State and obtained a degree in Accounting. He spent his working years at two steel companies, Caine Steel and Formetco (of which he was a partial owner). He and his bride Sandy retired to SSI in 1985 where he was a member of the Sea Island Golf Club, St. Simons United Methodist Church, and most recently was a resident at Marsh's Edge. He lived a full life, including obtaining his pilot's license, a love for playing golf, and traveling extensively.

He is survived by his brother Donald Rewis (Norma) of Doraville, GA, two brothers-in laws, Joel Adams of Nicholls, GA and Marcus Dykes of Hazlehurst, GA as well as several nephews and nieces. He is also survived by extended families as well as several close friends.

A graveside service will be held Friday, September 29, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Rose Hill Cemetery in Alma, Georgia with Rev. Edmund Thrift officiating. The family will be receiving friends at Crosby Funeral Home Friday between 1:00 PM and 1:45 PM.

Active pallbearers will be: Hank Rewis, Joel Adams, Joey Adams, Glen Keen, Alex Keen and Timmy Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be: members of St. Simons United Methodist Church, residents of Marsh's Edge, and members of BCHS Class of 1953.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
