Robert "Pappa" Varnadore, age 85, of Alma, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 18, 2020. The son of I. V. Varnadore and Irene Yawn Varnadore. He was born on January 8, 1935 in Alma. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Jack and Dewayne Varnadore and sister, Wynette Boatright.

Rev. Varnadore pastored the following churches during his ministry:

- Chrichton Church of God, Mobile, AL

- Bethany Temple Church of God, Tarpon Springs, FL

- Bainbridge Church of God, Bainbridge, GA

- Harvest Temple Church of God, Albany, GA (began retirement 2000)

After Rev. Varnadore's retirement with the Church of God he has spent the last 20 years serving many churches in the role of interim pastor, the last eight years were spent at New Hope Southern Congregational Methodist Church. While he served the Lord full-time since 1950 his favorite role was husband to his high school sweetheart, Audrey, Dad and Pappa to his family where he provided a wonderful, joyful life and loving home.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Audrey Carter Varnadore of Alma, three children, Robert Curtis Varnadore (Pamela), Carla Moore (Gary) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. and Angela Stubbs (Thomas) of Alma, five grandchildren, Lauren and Joshua Varnadore, Erica Herron, Will Moore and Thomas Cloud, four great-grandchildren, brother, Billy Varnadore (Cecilia) and sister, Elaine Peck both of Jacksonville, FL.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 21 ^st at 2:00 PM at Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. Mark Carver and Rev. Robert C. Varnadore officiating.

Social distancing and mask are mandatory.

Active pallbearers will be; Joshua Varnadore, Will Moore, Thomas Cloud, Nick Herron, Stefan Bruhms.  All Ministers in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
