Roger Dale Carter, age 73, of Alma passed away Sunday (September 25, 2022) after a short illness. Born on December 4, 1948 in Bacon County to the late Dewitt Carter and Lucille Nail Carter. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Joe Carter.

Mr. Carter was retired from Rogers State Prison and had worked for Wayne Corrections for 29 years. He was a member of Glory Road Baptist Church in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia.

Survivors include his fiancé, Brenda Davis of Alma.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, (September 29, 2022) at 11:00 AM at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Baxley, Georgia with Rev. Rick Brown officiating.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
