Romaina Carnes, age 84, of Jacksonville, FL died Sunday June 21st, 2015 at her home in Jacksonville. She was a native of Jesup, GA but had lived in Jacksonville since 1952. She was daughter of the late Lee Fales and Hulda Dozier Fales and also preceded in death by 4 brothers, David, Leroy, Joe and Robert Fales, a sister Vera Sills. Romaina was a member of the United Pentecostal Church of Jacksonville.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Dalton Elijah Carnes of Jacksonville, two sons, Robert Carnes, Caney Carnes (Kathy) of Jacksonville, 2 daughters Eloise Phillips (Ronald) of Jacksonville and Hulda Griggs (Michael) of Hartsville, SC, a brother, Edward Fales of Jesup, a sister Mary Evors of Brunswick. Also 7 grandchildren, 9 great grand and 6 great great grand survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 o'clock from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Roy King and Rev. Anthony Cohron officiating. Interment will follow in Mershon Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Thursday from 12:00 PM until funeral time.

Active pallbearers will be, Josh Carnes, Marcus Phillips, Brad Searcy, Jason Morgan, Shon Fales and Terry Evors.
