William Ronald Boatright, age 87, passed away July 27, 2026, after an extended illness. He was a native of Bacon County born January 18, 1939, to the late Perdie Boatright and Macy Howell Boatright. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Joan Ivey Boatright; son, Craig Martin; his brothers, Hoyt, Martus, Drexel, and Larry Boatright; sisters, Lawanda Boatright and Caryl Jean Hayes.

He proudly served in the United States Army before retiring from Satilla REMC after many years of dedicated service.

He is survived by his daughters, Rhonda Johnson (Jody) of Alma and Susan Martin of Brunswick; son, Robert Martin (Traci) of Alma; grandchildren, Ray Newberry, Lori Ann Martin, Malori Foster (Jackson), Bryce Martin, Presley Boatright, Maci Rae Johnson, and Ellie Jo Johnson; sister, Linda Carter (Donnie) of Alma; several great-grandchildren also survive.

A graveside service will be held Thursday July 30, 2026, in Turner Cemetery at Wesley Chapel Church Cemetery (121 Wesley Chapel Church Rd, Alma, GA. 31510) at 10 AM with Rev. David Davis officiating.
