Roy B. Parker, age 72, of Alma died Saturday afternoon February 11th, 2017 at the Bacon County Hospital after an extended illness. He was a native of Bacon County, son of the late Frank Parker and Rosa Marie Stewart Parker and was also preceded in death by two brothers Jimmy Frank Parker, Sr. and Carroll Parker. Roy retired from Container Corporation of America in Fernandina Beach, FL after 41 years of employment. In 2002 moved back to his beloved farm here in Bacon County where he worked and enjoyed his many hobbies.

Survivors include his wife of 18 years Dorinda Parker of Alma, a daughter Rhonda Horne (Mark) of Fernandina Beach, FL, a step-son Chris Moore of Fernandina Beach, FL, a brother Donald Parker of Quitman, GA, a sister Rosa Nell Moon of Alma, nine grandchildren Ryan & Matt Broddock, Ashton, Alexis, Ethan, C J, and Hannah Moore, Jamie Hunter and Jana Bowles. Also seven great Grandchildren survive and caregivers Margaret Johns and Tammy Dale.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning February 14th at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Ray and Rev. Tim Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in Stewart Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home this evening (Monday) between 6 and 8 P M.

Active pallbearers will be Ryan & Matt Braddock, Ashton Moore, Rhett Dale, Saul Gonzalez and Jonathan Dykes. Honorary pallbearers will be the classmates of 1962 and Rick & Bryan Pope, Gary Taylor, Lamar Dale, Roy T Boatright and Mac Andrews.
