Roy Thomas, age 74, of Waycross passed away suddenly Tuesday, May 27th at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross. He was a native of Coffee County but had lived in Waycross the past 40 years. Roy was son of the late Jesse Thomas and Alice Tanner Thomas and was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Chester Thomas. He was employed with South Georgia Grocery Company for many years and served in the US Army Reserve for 5 years.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Glenda Sue Taylor Thomas of Waycross, three sons, Donald Thomas (Missy) and Matthew Thomas (Morgan) of Waycross and Glenn Thomas (Angie) of Jesup, GA., daughter, Rhonda Rester (Danny) of Lake Park, GA., eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 30th at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Clayton Davis and Rev. Keith Lloyd officiating. Interment will follow in Elizabeth Chapel Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Friday from 11:00 AM until funeral time.

Active pallbearers will be; Huel Medders, Ronnie Kirkland, Stacy Kirkland, Bradley Taylor, Rendal Thomas and Danny Rester. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
