Royce Taylor, age 63, of Alma passed away suddenly Wednesday, June 6th at his residence. He was a native of Bacon County and son of the late Reppard Taylor and Amanda (Mandy) Elizabeth Bunton Taylor. Royce was preceded in death by a brother, Marlow Taylor, a sister, Luvania King and two brothers-in- law, Chester Grossman and Earl Keen. He was a member of Elizabeth Chapel United Methodist Church and a farmer.
Survivors include one brother, Frank Taylor (Linda) of Alma, two sisters, Latrell Grossman of Alma and Lavestle Keen of Dixie Union, a brother-in-law, Rufus King of Dixie Union, sister-in-law, Carolyn Sweat Taylor of Alma and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 9th at 11:00 AM at Elizabeth Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Ronnie Howell and Rev. Tony Crosby officiating. The body will be carried to the church at 10:00 AM to lie in state. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6 to 9 PM.
Active pallbearers will be; Dale Taylor, Greg Taylor, Greg Taylor, II, Charlie Taylor, Shawn Capps, Bubba Davis, Alan Keen and Dan King. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
