Ruby Lee Taylor Holton, age 90, of Alma went home to be with the Lord on August 24th after a short illness. She was born on May 1, 1926 to the late James Benjamin Taylor and Viney Elizabeth Tanner Taylor. Ruby is preceded in death by her husband, James Oliver Holton, Sr., four brothers, Herbert, Phillip, Grady and Harvey Taylor, a sister, Myrtice Clark and a granddaughter, Becky Boatright. She was a former member of Eastside Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, James Oliver "BaBo" Holton, Jr. (Nancy), two daughters, Patsy Sue Hutto (Dale) of Alma and Mary Elizabeth Buckner (James) of Savannah, six grandchildren, Tammi King, Bobby Boatright, Jimmy Buckner, Kimberly Lee, Courtney Thomas and Kari Lowther, 17 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; also a special niece Glenda Faye Clark of Wilmington, NC. and a special friend Margreite Johnson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 27th at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Dewayne Holton, Rev. Billy Mac Dyal and Rev. Greg Delk officiating and a eulogy given by Theo Clark. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Friday 6 to 9.
Active pallbearers will be; James Lee Buckner, Jr., Bobby Earl Boatright, Rocky Oglesby, Justin King, Derek Pless, Michael Linwood Lee, Johnny "Bubba" King and Joshua Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be; Jay Williams, Waylon Cribb, Tom Holton, Mike and Gail Martin, Harriett and Linton Carter, Ray and Glenda Boatright, Jenny Burnette, Randy Hill, Alzada Taylor, James Allen Johnson, Dr. Clay Carter and E. Hall Staff of Twin Oaks Nursing Home.
