Ruby Leona Moore, age 86, of Nicholls died early Friday morning September 12th, 2014 at the Bacon County Hospital after an extended illness. She was a native of Berrien County but had lived in Ware County the past 50 years. Ruby was daughter of the late Harley Tatum and Stella Rowe Tatum and was also preceded in death by her husband Charles (Blue) Moore, two sons, Anthony Smith, John Harris, a brother Perry Tatum. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Survivors include four sons, Glynn Moore (Brenda) of Nicholls, Billy Taylor (Angie) of Alma, George Taylor of Alma, David Moore (Janell) of Alma, a daughter Teresa Palmer (Joe) of Nicholls. Also 20 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren survive.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 4:00 o'clock at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. President Ricky McDowell, Elder Ed Wothington, Elder Charlie Moore will be officiating and a eulogy will be delivered by Annie Fae McCary. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery in Ware County. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Sunday evening between 6 and 8 P M. The body will be carried to the church Monday at 3:00 P M to lie in state.
Active pallbearers will be, John Banach, Reggie McCary, Danny and Eddie Musgrove, Orbie Davis and Charlie Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be; Dr. Michael Deen, All members of Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints, Staff of Bacon County Hospital and all Staff of Twin Oaks Nursing Home.
