Georgia Ruth Mattox Gaskins, age 88, of Alma went home to be with the Lord on February 28, 2019. She was born in Alma, Georgia on February 19, 1931 to the late Walter Mattox and Ora Lee Williford Mattox. One brother, Jay Walter Mattox, a sister, Stella Faye Mattox Peacock, a grandson, Marcus Franklin Stinger daughter-in-law, Kathy Davis Gaskins and a son-in-law, Lee Little preceded her in death. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 73 years, Marcus Newton Gaskins of Alma, two children, Jerry Marcus Gaskins (Alyssa) of Callahan, FL. and Rhonda Gaskins Little of Alma, one brother, Joey Mattox of Alma, three sisters, Hazel Lee, Jean Allen (Quitman) of Alma and Judy Williams (Richie) of Baxley, 5 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 3, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Beulah Baptist Church with Rev. Matt Tuttle, Rev. Loren Bryant and Rev. R. B. Gaskins officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Beulah Baptist on Sunday from 12:30 PM until funeral time.

Active pallbearers will be; Jay Mattox, Denny Lee, Tommy Peacock, Buddy Dubberly, Gary Allen and Charlie Gaskins. Honorary pallbearers will be; Eddie Smart, Women of Faith Sunday Sunday School Class of Beulah Baptist Church.
