Sadie Smart, age 88, of Alma passed away September 16, 2023 at her residence after a short illness. She was born April 14, 1935 in Appling County but had lived most of her life in Bacon County. She was daughter of the late Tobin Jeffcoat and Sallie Hand Jeffcoat.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Sam Smart; three brothers, Carlton Jeffcoat, Willie Franklin Jeffcoat and Troy Jeffcoat; two sisters, Maude Lee Woods Richardson and Ludine Brantley; daughter-in-law, Frances Smart and brother-in-law, Bill Simmons.

Survivors include two children, Randy C. Smart and Sharon Smart of Alma; adopted daughter, Patricia Scott (Daniel) of Waycross; grandson, Justin C. Smart (Kayla) of Waycross; sister, Lillian Simmons of Baxley; fur babies, Lou and Maggie and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Hal Jeffcoat and Rev. Michael Creamer officiating.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
