Samuel "Sam" Lewis Moon, age 82, of Alma passed away suddenly at his residence on Wednesday, October 17, 2018. Sam was born on December 7, 1935 to the late Samuel Tribble Moon and Bertie Adrian Overstreet Moon. His first wife , Mary Jacqueline Moon, a son, Tim Moon, two brothers, Bobby and Donald Moon and two sisters, Betty Hartless and Carolyn Moon preceded him in death. He was retired from McKenzie Tank Line, served in the U.S. Marines and was a member of Douglas Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Rosa Nell Parker Moon, two sons, Steve Moon and wife Jan, Gabriel Stewart Moon of Alma, a daughter, Tammy Dale and husband Lamar of Broxton, GA., a brother, Ed Moon of Hazlehurst, GA. two sisters, Linda Pritchett of Hazlehurst, GA. and Jo Ann Ford of Vidalia, GA., four grandchildren, Shandi Dykes, Hailey Spivey, Rhett Dale and Chelsie Moon and 7 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 19 ^th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Yawn and Rev. Denny Waters officiating.  Interment will follow in the Douglas Family Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6 to 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Rhett Dale, Jonathan Dykes, Lamar Dale, Doug Anderson, Shane Parkerson and Troy Parkerson. Honorary pallbearers will be; Joe Overstreet, Dr. Harrison Carter and Steve Collins.
