Sandra Burnette, age 69, of Alma passed away Wednesday, April 10th at the Bacon County Hospital after a short illness. She was a native of Crabb Apple, Georgia but had lived in Alma since 1988. Sandra was daughter of the late Louie Castleberry and Sarah Stroup Castleberry and preceded in death by three brothers, Bob, Thomas and Johnny Castleberry and three sisters, Mary Pugh, Janie Shirley and Martha Burrell. She was a member of New Lacy Church of God.

Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Roy Burnette, three sons, Stanley Burrell (Laura), Buddy Burnette and Bobby Burnett, two daughters, Evelyn Burrell all of Alma and Theresa Burrell Freeman (Steven) of Cumming, Ga., one sister, Joyce Monroe of Cumming, Ga., also 10 grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 13th at 11:00 AM at New Lacy Church of God with Rev. Calvin Lewis and Dr. Dale Carver officiating. Interment will follow in Rigdon & Burnette Cemetery on Wolf Pit Church Rd. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Thursday and Friday night from 6 to 8 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Ronnie Scoggins, Bruce & Greg Burnette, Garrett Welsh, Dustin Crosby and Bo Burnette. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
