Sandra E. Smith, age 79, of Mershon passed away September 23,2026 at her residence after an extended illness. She was born on March 19, 1947, in Bacon County to Eldon Duward Boatright and Melba Earnestine Winn Boatright.

Mrs. Sandra was retired from Satilla REA after many years and was a member of Bristol Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her mother and father in laws, Paul and Merle Smith. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Sidney Smith of Mershon; daughters, Nancy Malphurs (Robert) of Dallas, TX and Meg Hilkemeyer (Mitch) of Panama City Beach, FL; grandchildren, Gantt Lairsey, Russ Harter, Reed Malphurs, Holt Harter, Rylan Malphurs and Landon Hilkemeyer; great- grandchildren, Collins Lairsey, Stella Harter and Beau Lairsey; brother, Duward Boatright (Mary) of Bristol; sister, Wanda Mixon (Donald) of Waycross; sister-in-law, Paula Smith; also several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Monday, September 28, 2026, at 2:30 PM at Bristol Baptist Church. The family will be receiving friends at the church from 1:00 PM until service time.

Per Mrs. Sandra’s wishes wear casual attire and bright colors.
