Obituary

Sheila Darlene Parker Bennett, age 55, of Nicholls passed away Wednesday, April 1st at the Coffee Regional Hospital after an extended illness. She was a native of Appling County and daughter of the late James F. Parker. Sheila was preceded in death by a child, Baby Bennett, and her grandparents, Frank & Idell Griffin and James L. & Iona Parker.

Survivors include her mother, Betty Wanell Griffin Parker of Alma, husband, Mark R. Morgan of Nicholls, one sister, Jeanette Parker of Alma, foster brother, Ronnie Patton, two nephews, Dale & Randy Evans, six great nieces and nephews, Big Alex and Little Alex Evans, Hunter & Austin Evans and Alexis & Marcie Evans.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 5th at 4:00 PM at Anchor Fellowship Church in Douglas with Rev. Scott Smith, Rev. Jason McSwain and Rev. Jimmy Miles officiating. Interment will follow in Chatterton Church Cemetery. The body will be carried to the church at 3:00 PM to lie in state. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6 to 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Chris Smith, Eddie McCarty, Brandon Meeks, Tim Sweat, Gene Batten Carl Davis and Steven Dennison. Honorary pallbearers will be; Special Friend, Joyce Davis, Melinda Anderson, Ginger Perry, Megean Hersey, Tiffany King, Brook Sweat, Clay Sweat, Katie & Justin Hatten, Blake Williamson, Morris & Christie Chaffin, Matt Carter, Kayla & Alecia Gurley, L. B. Boatright, Nichole & Rachel Hatten and Landon Patton.
