Shellie Barber Tanner, age 83, of Alma passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 28, 2020 after a short illness. She was born in Alma to the late Charles Grady Barber and Earnie Byrd Barber. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two husbands, James F. Tanner and Julian Ray, two brothers, Willie and John Barber, and four sisters, Ruby Daughtry, Louise Smith, Shelva Jean Smart and Elva Barber.

Mrs. Tanner was a lifelong member of Southside Church of God and was retired from the Alma Post Office.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Reber of Alma, five children, William "Bill Tanner and wife Lynda of Lawrenceville, James Craig Tanner and wife Kelly Francis, Earnie Mae Deen and husband Larry C., Melanie Medders and husband Marty of Alma and Dorinda Johnson, one brother, Ernest Barber, sister, Jo Ann Barber of Alma, 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 1 ^st at 2:00 PM at Rose Hill Cemetery with Pastor Mark Carver officiating.

Active pallbearers will be; Lance Carter, Cory Johnson, Jody Johnson, Jeff Timothy, Shan Jackson and Drew Dodd.
