Shirley Gail Boatright, age 64, of Mershon passed away at her residence on December 7th after a short illness. She was a native of Bacon County, daughter of the late Jacob A. Carter and Leecelle Medders Mercer and preceded in death by her husband Troy Truitt Boatright and a stepdaughter Amy Boatright. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Dawson Klein Murray of Mershon, three daughters, Kymberly Anderson (Roger) of Alma, Amanda Marie Boatright of Mershon and Winter Michelle Thrift (Johnny) of Jesup, GA., a brother, Eddie Carter (Donna) of Waresboro, GA. and 8 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 9th at 2:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Mullis and Rev. R. B. Gaskins officiating. Interment will follow in Wesley Chapel Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6 to 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Dawson Murray, Allan Thrift, John Hopkins, Bobby Wayne Hart, James Carter and Nathan Boatright. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
