Shirley Ann Jowers, age 78, passed away at the Pavilion in Appling County on March 08, 2026, after an extended illness. She was born July 23, 1947, in Hazlehurst, GA to the late Mildred Jowers and Lucille Henderson Jowers, but was a resident of Bacon County most of her life.

She was a member of Liberty Church of God for many years. For over four decades she proudly served as a nurse at Bacon County Hospital and The Pavilion in Baxley, GA. She enjoyed cooking for those she cared about and was deeply devoted to her family and friends. Listening to southern gospel music was one of her favorite pastime entertainments.

She is survived by her brothers, Vernon Jowers (Brenda) of Blackshear, Tommy Jowers (Annie) of Leesburg, GA, David Jowers (Kim) of Alma, and Ronnie Jowers (Lisa) of Graham, GA; sister, LaVerne Brantley (Hugh) of Hazlehurst; special nieces and nephews, Kim Hinson (Charlie), Charles Brantley (Tina), Lisa Jowers (Trey Hines), Lauren Whitaker (David), Melissa Jowers, Michael Jowers, Jason Jowers (Kristen), Justin Jowers (Erica), Kevin Harkleroad (Meaghan), Lacey Beach (Tyler), Colby Jowers (Elizabeth), Madison Jowers, Lauren Baum (Matthew).

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2026, in the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home at 3 PM with Rev. John Thomas and Rev. Charles Brantley officiating. Interment will follow at Jowers Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2 PM until service time.

Active pallbearers include Jason Jowers, Justin Jowers, Blane Jowers, Colby Jowers, Charlie Hinson and Chase Hinson. All in attendance will be considered honorary pallbearers.
