Shirley Ann Medders, age 71, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away March 9, 2022. Born in Bacon County on August 7, 1950 to David Alexander "Alex" Godwin and Jessie Mae Allen Stewart. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James "Wayne" Medders; daughter, Julie Merritt; brothers, Ronnie Godwin, Dale Godwin and sisters, Evelyn Harris, Betty Hughes and Wanda Anderson.

Survivors include three children, James A. Medders (Billie Rankin) of Jacksonville, FL., Kimberly Sills (Shelby) of Yulee, FL. and Nicole Medders of Alma; brothers, Charles Godwin and Jerry Godwin of Jacksonville, FL. and Phillip Godwin of Nahunta, GA.; sisters, Jessie Medders of Alma, Kathy Burkett and Karen Story of Douglas; 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 14, 2022 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends Monday at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until funeral time. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be; Wayne Morris, Roger Anderson, AJ Grimsley, Shane Gomillion, Harvey Willford and Richard Medders.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
