Obituary

Everett “Shon” Tomberlin, age 47, passed away July 11, 2026, at Bacon County Hospital after a brief illness. He was a native of Bacon County born August 09, 1978, to Everett Tomberlin and Judy Robinson. He is preceded in death by his mother, Judy Robinson; sister, Wanda Marie Tillman; brother, Logan Tomberlin; maternal grandparents, Odis and Audrey Robinson; paternal grandparents, Elzie and Lillian Tomberlin.

He proudly worked as a surveyor with Tomberlin Surveying for many years, alongside his father and children. He also dedicated many years to working on power lines, where he formed lasting friendships with coworkers he admired and considered family.

Above all, he cherished time spent with his family, wherever their adventures took them. He was incredibly proud of the newest addition to the family, Ellie Jo, who brought him immense joy. He loved the Georgia Bulldogs, camping, and making memories with those he loved most.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Nicole Tomberlin; son, Jase Tomberlin; daughter, Taylor Denison (Jad); special niece, Mariah Anderson; granddaughter, Ellie Jo Denison; his father, Everett Tomberlin (Lisa); brothers, Marty Tillman (Julie) and Robbie Tillman (Nedra) of TN; sisters, Lynn Griffin (David), Leah Cothern (Art), and Sha Duque (Padrick); several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday July 15, 2026, in the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home at 11 AM with Rev. Jerry Tomberlin officiating and eulogy given by Charlie Hinson. Interment will follow at Tomberlin-Barber Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Tuesday night from 6-8 PM.

Active pallbearers include Shawn Hollingsworth, Curt Taylor, Matt Thrift, David Hand, Wade Chancey, and Jackson Connor. All power line coworkers and others in attendance will be considered honorary pallbearers.
