Sidney J. Williams, age 91, of Alma died Thursday afternoon November 22nd, 2012 at the Bacon County Hospital after an extended illness. She was a native of Coffee County but had lived in Bacon County most of her life. She is daughter of the late William Courtney Jarrard and Callie Cain Jarrard and was also preceded in death by her husbands, Clayton Wade and J. Herman Williams, an infant daughter, Sandra Wade, three brothers, Ransey, Presley and Harris Jarrard, a sister, Fannie Smith, 4 grandchildren, Melonie Crosby, Mitch and Melba Meadows, Bobby Williams and a great-grand son, Wesley Dennison. Sidney was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include four sons, Donald Wade (Jo Ann), Ronald Wade (Martha), Arnold Wade, all of Alma and Gerald Wade (Dian) of Forney, TX, three daughters, Julia Harris of Baxley, Beulah Meadows of Alma, Eula Chancey (Billy) of Mershon, 29 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Barth and Rev. Danny Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Friday evening between 6 and 9 P M. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Twin Oaks Nursing Home or the Wade Pond House.
Active pallbearers will be, Shane, Lane, Desi and Jeremy Wade, Wade & Will Chancey, Tony Tanner and Tommy Davis. All others in attendance will be considered as honorary.
