Spencer Jones, age 83, of Nicholls passed away April 5, 2021 at Satilla Hospice after an extended illness. Born in Bacon County on July 2, 1937 to George Jones and Ora Lee Boatright Jones. He retired from Truck Driving after 48 years.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Sue Whitley Jones; son, Shannon Jones; grandchildren, Charlie and Stephen Taylor; brother, Jerry Jones and sister, Glenda Sue Mattox. Survivors include his wife of thirteen years, Betty Ann Bell Jones of Nicholls; three daughters, Shelia Farrow (Tony) of Dunlap, TN., Shelly Hamm (Jeff) of Pikeville, TN. and Wendy Gilliard (Eddie) of Daytona, FL.; three stepchildren, David Roland and wife, Cindy Gibson of Maryland and Cathy Roland of Florida; one brother, Howard Jones (Eunice) of Mershon; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren and 1 step great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 9, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 with R. B. Gaskins officiating. Interment will follow at Damascus Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be; Robbie Taylor, Waylon Hamm, Tuff Farrow, Drake Gilliard, Spencer Gilliard,  Jerome Jones and Jay Mattox. Honorary pallbearer will be; Bethanny Gilliard.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
