Obituary
Stella Laverne Thompson, age 79, passed away Sunday, May 10th at Jesup Health in Jesup after extended illness. She was a native of Bacon County, daughter of the late Grady E. Boatright and Lois Milliken Boatright and preceded in death by her husband, John William Thompson; a daughter, Denita Kaye Thompson Bryson, brother, Cash Boatright and a sister, Alene Boatright.
She is survived by two sons, Don Glenn Boatright and John Dewayne Thompson (Kim) of Nahunta, Ga.; a daughter, Deborah Knowles (William) of Ridgeway, Ohio, two brothers, Freddy Boatright (Estelle) and Ronnie Boatright (Julie) of Fernandina Beach, FL.; a sister, Shirley Harrison of Alma; 6 grandchilden, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great- great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 13th at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Rainey officiating. Interment will follow in Carter's Chapel Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 to 9 PM.
Active pallbearers will be; Jason Barber, Spencer Knowles, Matt Boatright, Robert & Tommy Rowland. Honorary pallbearer will be Johnny Boatright.
Crosby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
