Stephen E. Brister, age 70, of Alma passed away sudden on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the Bacon County Hospital. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on June 21, 1947 to the late John Merritt Brister and Rosalie Allen Brister. Stephen was preceded in death by a brother, George Brister. He was a carpenter and a member of New Hope Congregational Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Retha Brister of Alma, half brother, Kenry Brister of Florida, niece, Diana Kraft of Marietta, GA. and a nephew, T.J. Brister of Hartwell, GA.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 27 ^th at 2:00 PM at Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. T. F. Yawn officiating.
