Steve was a devoted husband, father, and friend. He married Sheila and in their years of marriage together, they raised two awesome boys, shared countless adventures, and traveled with a close network of old and new friends. Steve never missed an opportunity to spend time with his family, particularly the granddaughter, Edie Kate, he felt so blessed to have the opportunity to create memories. Always one for a good time, Pap often led the two into mischief, until some rule-abiding parent intervened. The heart of Edie Kate will forever carry a little piece of her Pap's silly antics.
Steve was a constant source of laughter, joy, and sunshine as he greeted others with smiles and wonderful conversation. He l oved spending time with people he cared about and was always onboard for fun and adventure. The laughter, care, and love he shared made our world a brighter place. Steve's capacity for laughter and love was immeasurable. He was always content and found joy in the simple things My beloved Sheila, Christopher, Cody, and Edie Kate; My beloved family and friends, how precious you all have been to me . . . knowing and loving each one of you was the success story of my life. Metaphorically speaking, we will meet again, joyfully, on the other side.
Our life's purpose is not a one-stop arrival, it is worked out along the way. The journey itself is the most essential part as our endless choices along the way lead us to the story we're going to tell with our lives. There's comfort in knowing that none of us has arrived. We're all just figuring it out as we go.
