Stevie Hayward Ellis, age 65, of Alma passed away suddenly Tuesday, July 26th at the Bacon County Hospital. He was born on March 5, 1951 to the late Thomas Melvin Ellis and Geneva Hayes Ellis.

Survivors include his son, Shelley Davis (Becky) of Blackshear, Ga., one brother Gary Ellis of Alma, four grandchildren, Kate, Molly, Sarah and Lilly Davis of Blackshear, Ga. and a nephew Jeremy Ellis of Alma.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 29th at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Toler and Rev. Kenny Ellis officiating. Interment will follow in Mims Chapel Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Thursday 6 to 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Benny Ray Carver, Joey Carver, Randy and Stevie Altman, Mitchell Ellis, Jerry Mims, George Yearty and Jerald Douglas. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
