Teresa Lee Sermons, age 53, of Alma died early Sunday morning at her home after an extended illness. She was a native of Bacon County. Graduated USF in 1991, had 26 years of credible service in education, started out at Bacon County High School as an English teacher, taught drama and was a soft ball coach. At Coffee County High School she was a guidance counselor and later assistant principal. At Bacon County Elementary School she was principal for 3 years and the past 3 years she was principal of Bacon County High School and was a member of the Alma Tenth Street Church of God.
Survivors include her husband Lloyd Randall (Randy) Sermons of Alma; maternal grandmother, Margarite Johnson of Alma; her parents, Troy Lee and Syble Johnson Lee of Alma; two sons, Jeremy Ryan Sermons of Cleveland, TN; Jon Ashley Sermons (Kristen) of Cleveland, TN; a daughter, Sharon Stacie Davis (Travis) of Alma; two brothers, Mark Lee (Rachel) of Manning, S C; Greg Lee of Pell City, AL.
Five grandchildren include: Alex Turner of Alma, Bryce Sermons of Nicholls, Riley Jo Sermons of Cleveland, TN, Katie Turner of Alma and Gracie Belle Sermons of Cleveland, TN.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 5:00 o'clock at the New Vision Life Center with Rev. Mark Grimes, Rev. Pet Hayes and Rev. Johnny Johnson officiating. The eulogy will be delivered by Dr. Marsena Boatright. The Body will be carried to the church at 4:00 P M Tuesday to lie in state. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Monday evening between 6 and 9 P M. A private, family burial will follow the services Tuesday evening.
Active pallbearers will be, T G Lee, Andrew Lee, Mike Lee, Jeffrey Anderson, Jonathan Johnson and Ray Johnson. Honorary will be, Dr. Gail Williams, Dr. Marsena Boatright, Cecelia Carter, Gwen Tyre, Dr. Debbie Wooten, faculty & staff of Bacon County School System, Bacon County Board of Education and School Board members.
Crosby Funeral Home is in charge of all the arrangements.
