Terry Hilmer Peterson, age 80, of Nicholls, Georgia, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2026, at Coffee Regional Medical Center following systemic organ failure due to complications of diabetes.

Terry was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid sports fan who loved settling in to watch a great football game or an exciting wrestling match. He also had a deep appreciation for music, frequently listening to his favorite classic rock tracks, and shared a special, compassionate bond with his beloved animals.

He was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Arvid H. Peterson and Edna L. Peterson, formerly of Atlanta, Georgia.

Terry’s memory will be cherished by those he leaves behind, including his adopted son, Scott Hilmer Peterson, and his wife, Melissa, of Alabama; his sister, Sarah Jayne Peterson of Georgia; and his close, dedicated family friend, Korey Holliday of Nicholls, Georgia.

Arrangements for cremation were cared for and managed through Crosby Funeral Home in Alma, Georgia. Memorial services and interment details will be announced by the family at a later date.
