Thomas C. (Tom) Deen, age 74, died suddenly Tuesday September 4 ^th at his home in Darien, Ga where he had lived the past six years.  He was a native of Bacon County, son of the late Foyd Deen, Sr. and Evelyn Trice Deen and was also preceded in death by a brother Dr. Floyd Deen, Jr. Tom had worked with the Model City program for nine years 1970 through 1979 and was Alma City Manager for 14 years 1988 through 2002.  He also owned the Alma Insurance Agency for several years and worked with the Pearson, Georgia Bank until his retirement. He had served in the U S Army and was a member of the Alma United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons Adam Deen (Myra) of Alma, Bray Thomas Deen of Claxton, three daughters Kelli Deen Echols (Jake) of Patterson, Trice and Aubrey Deen of Claxton, a brother Dr. Johnny Deen (Betty) of Thomaston, GA, a sister-in-law Judy Jones Deen of Hiawassee, GA, five grandchildren Anna Claire Deen, Tyson Brady Deen, Addyson Echols, Ivey Echols and Jake Echols, Jr.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 8th at 11:00 o'clock from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Henry Bass officiating. Eulogies will be given by: Ralph Deen, Jimmy Tucker, Clay Lee and The 1962 class president Jimmy McCall. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Saturday morning between 10:00 and 11 A M.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of his 1962 class, Jimmy Tucker, Jimmy Pearson, Randy Wheeler,  and Jon Lott.
