Thomas "Buddy" Leggett, Sr., age 75, of Alma passed away Sunday, August 23rd at Twin Oaks Nursing Home after an extended illness. He was a native of Appling County and son of the late Carlos Leggett and Mattie Mathis Leggett. Buddy was preceded in death by two brothers, Jarrell Heflee and Gerald Leggett and six sisters, Bessie Jane Everett, Velma Staley, Wanda Gribble, Jenell Hilton and Patsy Stone. He served in the US Army.

Survivors include three sons, Tommy Leggett (Sherry) of Baxley, Joe Leggett (Jeanette) and Carl Leggett both of Alma, three daughters, Janice Maddox (Howard) and Debbie Wright of Vidalia and Barbrann Joiner (Robert) of Baxley, one brother, Michael Leggett of Baxley, 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 27th at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in Wesley Chapel Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6 to 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Bradley Griffin, Alvin Joiner, Jamie Leggett, Billy Ray Dyal, Brad Finley and Michael Strickland. Honorary pallbearers will be; Nursing Home Employee's and Bruce Benton.
