Tommy Gene Simpson, age 75, of Alma passed away May 6, 2023 at Bacon County Hospital after an extended illness. He was born February 18, 1948 in Pelham, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents James Edward Simpson and Mary Janet Holley Simpson; brother, Edward Simpson and three sisters, Mary Jane Kinser, Brenda Kay Phillips and Joyce Minix.

Tommy served in the US Army.

Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Kathy Meyer Simpson of Alma; two children, T. J. Simpson (Glenn) of Macon and Tracy Denny of Gray; two stepchildren, Kevin Kirkland and Brandy Taylor of Alma; brother, James Roger Simpson, Sr. of Alabama; two sisters, Debbie Lane (Phil) and Mary Christine Ray of Columbus, GA; 9 grandchildren, Breanna Taylor, Katy Velazquez, Ethan Taylor, Bernie Mac Cothern, Staci, Alyssa and Lil Kevin Kirkland, Alexis Strickland and Hannah Adkins and 6 great-grandchildren, Kambry, Brayden, Bella, Brice, Daniel and Grayson.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
