Troy Truitt Boatright, age 61, of Mershon-Scuffletown passed away September 18th at Memorial Health in Savannah after a short illness. He was a native of Bacon County and son of the late John Truitt Boatright and Bessie Marie Carver Boatright. Troy was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Boatright and two brothers, Nathan & Don Boatright. He was retired from CSX Railroad after 35 years and a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Shirley Carter Boatright of Mershon- Scuffletown, three daughters, Kimberly Anderson (Roger) of Alma, Amanda Marie Boatright of Macon and Winter Michelle Thrift (Johnny) of Jesup, four brothers, Stevie Boatright (Cathy) of Baxley, Archie Boatright (Brenda), Franklin Boatright (Joyce) of Mershon-Scuffletown, and Bobby Boatright (Linda) of Alma, two sisters, Margaret Hall of Hazlehurst and Carolyn Sanders (Leland) of Baxley also seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday September 22nd at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. R. B. Gaskins and Rev. Donnie Mullis officiating. Interment will follow in Wesley Chapel Church Cemetery on Hwy 203. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6 to 9 PM.
Active pallbearers will be; Teddy Boatright, James Higgs, Larry Boatright, Trey Sweat, Nathan Boatright, Roy T. Boatright and Jamie Carter. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
