Vernon Louis (Bill) Anderson, Sr., age 78, of Alma passed away Tuesday, January 8th at the Bacon County Hospital after a short illness. He was a native of Pierce County but had lived in Bacon County since 1960. Bill was son of the late Thomas Anderson and Holli Mikell Anderson. He was preceded in death by a son, Kevin W. Anderson, three sisters, Lillie Richardson, Susie Pauline Groover and Alfie Mae Thornton and two brothers, Cecil Anderson and Thomas Art Anderson.

Survivors include one son, Bill Anderson, Jr. (Misty) of Alma, one daughter, Severa Anderson Mahony (Vincent) of Brunswick, one brother, James Olin Anderson of Nicholls, six grandchildren, James, Sean & Ben Mahony of Brunswick, Kyler & Katelynn Williams of Baxley and Megan Anderson of Alma.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 12th at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Eason officiating. Interment will follow in Corinth Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until funeral time.

Active pallbearers will be; James & Vince Mahony, Ken & Jamie Rigby, Lewis & Edward Mikell. Honorary pallbearers will be; Residents and Staff of Twin Oaks Nursing Home.
