Vonzille Padgett Stubbs, age 66, of Alma passed away November 1st at her residence after an extended illness. She was born in Appling County but had lived all her life in Bacon County. Vonzille was daughter of the late Olan "Sonny" and Lucille Beecher Padgett and preceded in death by her husband Tom Linder Stubbs, two brothers, Willie and Wendell Padgett, two sisters Karen Bryant and Gloris Ann Padgett. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Thomas Daniel Stubbs of Alma, two step-sons Tommy D. Stubbs of Reidsville, Ga. and Terry D. Stubbs (Rosie) of Arkansas, one brother, Henry L. Padgett (Patsy) of Alma, three sisters, Joyce Taylor of Hazlehurst, Ga., Doris Taylor (Joe) of Baxley and Sharon Crawford of Alma and four step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 3rd at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church with Rev. R. B. Gaskins, Rev. Richard Johnson, Travis Peavy and Rev. Rick Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The body will be carried to the church at 10:00 AM to lie in state. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Monday from 6 to 9 PM.
