Walker Russell
Harter, Jr.
July 26, 1965 – December 16, 2018
Walker R. Harter, Jr. went to be with his Heavenly Father December 16, 2018. Walker was born on July 26, 1965 and the first child for Bonnie Brewington and Walker Russell Harter. Walker was married to Meg Smith Harter and they have two children Walker Russell Harter III (Russ) and Paul Loadholt Harter (Holt), brother John Brewington Harter (Cricket) and sister Tiffanie Lynn Harter Doremus (Gary). Sidney and Sandra Smith were his loving father and mother in laws. Survived by his extended family, sister-in-law, Nancy Malphurs (Robert) of Dallas, TX., nephews, D. G. and Nick Doremus ,Brew Harter, Gant Lairsey, Reed and Ryan Malphurs, nieces, Izzy Harter and Sydney Doremus and a great nephew, Collins Lairsey. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John Edward and Frances Loadholt Harter and maternal grandparents, Murray and Gertrude Brewington.
Walker graduated from Allendale Academy and attended The University of South Carolina and Newberry College. Walker was retired from Allendale County Bank in Fairfax, South Carolina where he was executive Vice President and director emeritus. Walker was owner of Carolina Motors and ran Harter Plantation Hunting club. Walker enjoyed hunting and fishing and boating with his family and friends around Hilton Head Island. Walker will be missed very much by his family and friends.
Our last memory of Walker will forever bring peace to our family. He had a beautiful smile on his face showing us all that he was happy and at peace.
Memorial services will be Thursday, December 20 th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. R.C. James officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bethany Hospice 1400 N. Peterson St. Suite 12 Douglas, GA. 31533 or John E. Harter Nursing Home 185 Revolutionary Trail Fairfax, SC 29827.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
Crosby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
