Wanda Lee Whitley, age 73, of Nicholls passed away suddenly at the Bacon County Hospital on Wednesday, December 27, 2017. She was born in Bacon county on July 21, 1944 to the late Luther Stirckland and Pauline Lee Strickland; besides her parents her husband, Jimmy Sidney Whitley, twin sons, Jim and Tim Whitley, a daughter, Donna Whitley, a brother, Bobby Strickland, a sister, Sandra Johnson and a great-granddaughter, Tayla Laydon Smith preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Sid Whitley (Carla) and Clint Whitley (Cammie) of Nicholls, a daughter, Cindy Whitley of Nicholls, a brother, Billy Strickland of Waycross, a sister, Lynteen Stirckland Williams of Waycross; also 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren children.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 30 ^th at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Matt Tuttle officiating. Interment will follow in the Family Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 PM until funeral time.

Active pallbearers will be; Kelly Smith, Jeff Smith, William Martin, Daniel Gibson, Adam Yearty and David Musgrove. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
