Obituary

Wannell Wildes Ferguson, age 81, of Alma died Saturday evening April 5 th , 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Waycross after an extended illness. She was a native of Bacon County, daughter of the late Harvey Thomas and Ada Waters Thomas and was also preceded in death by her husbands, Clifford Ward Wildes and Charlie Ferguson, three brothers, Junior Thomas, J W Thomas and Grady Waters, a sister, Nellene McQuaig. Wannell was a nurse for many years at Twin Oaks Nursing Home and Bacon County Hospital.

Survivors include a son, Larry Wildes of Alma, a daughter, Renee Kirby (Bobby) of Waycross, a sister, Mary Christine Morgan of Homerville, three grandchildren, Britt Peacock of Athens, Brandy Boatright and Kimberly Wildes of Alma, three great-grandchildren, Ethan Boatright of Alma, Gable and Layla Peacock of Athens.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 o'clock from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Lowell Lee and Rev. David Douglas officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening between 6 and 9 P M.

Active pallbearers will be, Ethan Boatright, Barry Edmundson, Charles Wildes, G C Waters, Robert Benchoff and Buddy McQuaig. All others in attendance will be considered as honorary.

Crosby Funeral Home is in charge of all the arrangements.
